My Coffee I Love Thee

I have one little vice: I like to write hymn parodies. This one came to me this morning as I was reflecting on the end of semester. Here’s to all my fellow seminarians at George Fox……

My Coffee I Love Thee

My Coffee I love thee I know thou art mine

To thee all the late nights of study I resign

My wondrous awakener I would flunk out without thou

If ever I loved thee, my coffee ‘tis now

I love thee because I was up until three

Writing a paper on God and family

I love thee for keeping me awake for now

If ever I loved thee, my coffee ‘tis now

In mochas of glory and endless delight

I’ll ever adore thee in Kam’s cafe  so bright

I’ll sing with the final’s sweat cold on my brow

If ever I loved thee, my coffee ‘tis now
